Thanks to Uncertain Times for the trigger
I guess I heard Mercy, Mercy, Mercy, for the first time when I was about nine, and my father properly introduced me to The Quintet when I was about eleven or twelve. I've been a fan of the Adderley brothers and Joe Zawinul as individuals always, but I think think that the sum parts of this bunch created something far greater and magnificent. I went on to listen to Joe Z in his incarnation with Weather Report when I was in high school 7-8 years later.
